Frequently asked questions from exporters

Are these approvals import permits?

No. They are approvals that allow a product to be marketed and to remain on the Argentine market. Some are linked to each shipment, but many are no longer checked at the border at all: control happens on the market, and documentation can be required years after import.

Who holds the approval: my company or my buyer?

Usually the Argentine importer or a licensed local company. ANMAT registrations, food registrations and ENACOM registrations require an Argentine holder. Your company supplies the technical evidence. If several distributors will sell your product, decide early who holds each registration, because some cannot be transferred or assigned.

What will I, as manufacturer, need to provide?

It depends on the product: accredited test reports or certificates, certificates of free sale from your health authority, formulas and specifications, manufacturing process, label artwork, technical files with frequencies and power, or refurbishment certificates. We send a precise checklist after scoping your product, so nothing is requested twice.

Can my CE, FDA, CB or UN ECE documents be used?

Often, yes. Depending on the regime, Argentina accepts IECEE CB certificates, reports from laboratories accredited under OAA's agreements, UN ECE approvals, and certificates of free sale from reference countries such as the EU, the US, the UK or Japan. Each case is checked against the specific rule before filing.

Are you a customs broker?

No. We do not provide customs clearance. We handle third-party agency approvals and coordinate with your buyer's customs broker when a procedure is linked to a shipment. If your buyer does not have a broker, we refer them to associated customs brokers.

How much does it cost?

Official agency fees are published on each procedure page, with the date they are valid as of and their source. Laboratory and certification body costs are private and quoted separately. Our own fees are quoted case by case after we understand the product and the procedure. Ask for a fee quote.

How long does it take?

Each procedure page shows the estimated timing where an official source sets it, and what it depends on. Where no official timing exists, the page says so instead of estimating. In many regimes, timing depends mostly on laboratories, certification bodies and how complete the manufacturer's documents are.

Do you work with exporters in any country?

Yes. We work 100% remotely, by email, video call and WhatsApp, with manufacturers and exporters anywhere and with their buyers anywhere in Argentina. The only in-person steps that may exist are agency inspections at your buyer's warehouse or plant, attended by their own team.
